Cut Model of Turbo Charger
Product Code : EL-AELE-10723
Cut Model of Turbo Charger (code EL-AELE-10723) is a cut-section teaching model that shows how the air intake of a naturally aspirated engine can be boosted to raise its power output. Built from actual automotive components, with automotive paints on the sectioned parts, it opens up the air intake, compression impeller, air outlet, exhaust gas outlet and water cooling channels, and the model measures approx. 400 × 400 × 300 mm and weighs 14 kg.

What Is the Cut Model of Turbo Charger Used For?
A turbocharger is a form of supercharger whose compressor is driven by a turbine running in the engine's exhaust gas, so energy that would otherwise leave through the exhaust is used to push more air into the cylinders; a conventional supercharger, by contrast, takes its drive mechanically from the engine, often by a belt from the crankshaft. On the cut section, the instructor follows the exhaust gas through to the exhaust gas outlet and the fresh air from the intake past the compression impeller to the air outlet, then points out the water cooling channels that carry heat away from the unit.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of turbocharger cut models needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a turbocharger differ from a supercharger?
A supercharger is mechanically driven by the engine, often by a belt from the crankshaft, whereas the compressor of a turbocharger is powered by a turbine driven by the engine's exhaust gas.
Which parts are exposed in the cut section?
The sectioned unit is cut open to show the air intake, the compression impeller, the air outlet, the exhaust gas outlet and the water cooling channels.
Is it made from real turbocharger components?
Yes, the model is built using actual automotive components, and the sectioned parts are finished in automotive paints so that each stage can be picked out.
Why does a turbocharger raise engine power?
It increases the amount of air entering the engine compared with natural aspiration, and with more air in each cylinder more fuel can be burnt, giving greater power output.
What does the model measure and weigh?
About 400 × 400 × 300 mm overall (length × width × height), with an approximate weight of 14 kg.
