What Is the Prism Mould Three Gang Used For?

Prisms of this size are cast from cement mortar and are later broken in bending and then in compression to give strength results for the binder being tested. The parts are assembled on the base by matching their identification numbers, so that each compartment keeps its checked dimensions, and the three compartments are filled and compacted together, giving three prisms from one batch. After setting, the mould is taken apart and the prisms are removed for curing and testing. The standards listed are IS 1727 1967, IS 4031 1968, ASTM C 394 and C 64.
