What Is the Pocket Concrete Penetrometer Used For?
Setting time tells the site or laboratory how long concrete stays workable and when finishing or joint work can begin. Mortar is sieved from the fresh concrete, and at intervals the needle is pressed steadily into it to the graduation mark; the calibrated spring compresses in proportion to the resistance and pushes the marker ring along the scale, where it stays after the needle is withdrawn so that the reading can be noted.
