What Is the Digital Height Gauge Used For?
On a surface plate, a height gauge measures how far features such as steps, bores and faces lie above the reference base, and its scriber marks lines at set heights when work is laid out for machining. With this model the operator brings the slider down to the feature by hand, finishes the movement with the fine-adjustment carriage and reads the height directly from the LCD. Readings can be passed to a computer through the SPC output for recording, which saves writing results down during batch inspection in manufacturing, machining and mechanical engineering work.
